NEW: Dairy Revenue Protection Training
Dairy Revenue Protection (DRP) is approved for sale in all 50 states. Daily sales will begin on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, with the first available coverage starting the first quarter of 2019.
We will be offering 3-hour Dairy Revenue Protection (DRP) training sessions throughout the year. This course is required for agents who have not been previously trained on DRP as well as all experienced agents wanting to write DRP policies. The Livestock Price Reinsurance Agreement (LRPA) requires all new agents to complete three hours of DRP training and pass the DRP Competency Exam before selling DRP. A new agent is defined as one that has not been previously trained on the DRP insurance program.
DRP is a privately developed product designed to insure against unexpected declines in the quarterly revenue from milk sales relative to a guaranteed coverage level. The expected revenue is based on futures prices for milk and dairy commodities and the amount of covered milk production elected by the dairy producer. The covered milk production is indexed to the state or region where the dairy producer is located.
